We have come a long way since the first phonograph - a metal foil on a cylinder - with a recording of Mary had a Little Lamb! Today's smallest MP3 players fit in your pocket, and can hold many many more recordings than Thomas Alva Edison ever dreamed of!! So how did we get from there to here??
